Corendon — Can I claim flight compensation with a non-EU airline?

When you fly with Corendon from the EU, your rights are protected under EU Regulation (EC) No. 261/2004, also known as EU261. This regulation states that if your flight departing from a European country is delayed or cancelled, you may be entitled to flight compensation.

Additionally, if you are flying with Corendon from the UK, your rights are protected by the British equivalent of EU261, introduced by the government after Brexit.

Careful: airlines can claim that extraordinary circumstances occurred when they did not! By doing so, they hope to avoid paying out compensation to passengers.

How long do I have to claim my Corendon compensation and refund?

There is, but it depends on your flight route and the airline. The time limit differs depending on:

• The law of the destination country

• The law of the departure country

• The law of the country where the airline is headquartered

With Corendon, as the airline is headquartered in Turkey, the last point doesn’t apply. But let’s imagine you are flying with Corendon from Amsterdam to Zakynthos in Greece. You can then claim for 2 years (Dutch law) or 5 years (Greek law).
