Flight between 1,500 and 3,500 km | £350 per passenger |

Extraordinary circumstances — can Emirates deny my flight compensation claim?
In the event of a third party or force majeure delaying or preventing your flight from departing, Emirates would explain the delay or cancellations with the Extraordinary Circumstances. In those situations, Emirates won’t have to pay flight compensation to passengers.
Some of the Extraordinary Circumstances are:
- Severe weather conditions (eg. heavy rain and think fog)
- A strike caused by workers within the aviation industry but not related to airline, such as baggage handlers. However, keep in mind that an Emirates strike caused by workers related to airline, such as pilots, is NOT considered an extraordinary circumstance.
- Natural disasters, including wild fires, hurricanes, or floods.
Be careful! Airlines may sometimes claim that your flight disruption happened because of extraordinary circumstances, while it wasn't actually the case! They do so in order to avoid paying passengers their well-deserved compensation.
Don’t be fooled by the airline and claim your flight compensation with Flight-Delayed.co.uk. Our experts will assess your claim and verify the airline’s opinion. We operate on a “no win, no fee” basis.
How long do I have to claim Emirates flight compensation?
If you departed from the UK, the time limit to claim Emirates flight compensation is up to 6 years after your flight. Note that Scotland is the exception — there, you can claim for up to 5 years after your disrupted flight.
Generally speaking, the time limit to submit a claim depends on the law in:
- The country of departure,
- the country of arrival,
- or the country where the airline is headquartered in.
Side note: Since Emirates is not a European airline, the time limit will only depend on the legislation of the country of departure.
