British Airways and easyJet named worst airlines for flight delays

A recent report, analyzing the on-time performance of over 40 airlines, recently revealed British Airways and easyJet as the worst airlines when it comes to flight delays. The two belong to Europe's busiest carriers. While easyJet records nearly 7000 flight delays between October and November alone, British Airways recorded just over 4000 delays for the same period. Other latecomers include German Lufthansa (4000 delays), Turkish Airlines (3500 delays), Air France (3300 delays) and Alitalia (2600 delays).

According to British Airways, the most common reason for a delay is air traffic control restrictions. A plane is regarded as delayed if it departs 15 minutes or more from the designated departure time.
