Flights to Iran to resume from UK
Tuesday, September 6, 2016
London: British Airways have announced that flights to Iran have resumed from the UK.
This comes as diplomatic ties between Britain and Iran continue to improve after the lifting of nuclear sanctions in January this year.
After a break of almost 4 years, flights to Tehran resumed from London on Friday. UK flagship carrier British Airways was the first airlines to restore air travel with the Iran.
BA plan to have 6 return flights a week, with a view to operating a daily service to Iran later in the year.
British Airways was due to resume flights in June this year but due to “some technical issues,” it was unable to do so.
The news is likely to excite those associated with the airline as BA describes the link with Tehran as “an important destination”.
Air France also announced the resuming of flights to Iran, although after a longer period of 8 years without flying to the country.
