Baggage handler pulling out could see HUGE flight-delays over Christmas period

UK: A baggage handler has pulled out of contracts with several UK airports just before one of the busiest times of the year.
Aviator is pulling out of their contracts with the UK airports at the end of November. This is a growing concern for workers as well as travellers.
Workers Union Unite have expressed their concern about the ongoing matter. National officer Oliver Richardson stated that "Unite will be seeking assurances from the company, airlines, other handlers and ultimately, the airports, that there will be no compulsory redundancies".
The news has sparked fears that there will be an extraordinary rate of flight delays caused over the period of time it will take for a new company to get up and running.
Travellers are concerned that the airports in question have yet to announce who will be contracted and passengers fear that they could be left waiting at airports while locating their luggage.
The Scandinavian company is set to end its contracts at the end of November and is doing so due to financial reasons.
Out of the four UK airports affected by the move, London Gatwick will be affected worse. With over 1,200 staff at Gatwick employed by the company, turbulent times are ahead for both the staff and the airport.
If you are travelling at Christmas and are concerned, contact the airport you are travelling from before your flight.
The airports in question are working to resolve the issue in a timely manner.
