Easy to pledge, hard to deliver: easyJet wants to reduce flight delays

As reported by, Iomtoday, easyJet says that it will introduce fire breaks in an attempt to reduce disruption to its services. The fire breaks will ensure the knock-on effect on subsequent flights will be reduced in the event of an issue with one of the flights in the schedule.

EasyJet's main target is the service from Gatwick to Ronaldsway, in the Isle of Man. When delayed or cancelled, flights to IOM are a life line for residents of the island.

EasyJet, a supporter of the third runway at Heathrow, is keen to reassure passengers from the Isle of Man that their flights will not be cancelled or delayed.

The addition of fire breaks has resulted in the changing of easyJet's entire schedule. But the changes should reduce disruption.

Quoted in the Manx Independent, commercial manager Ali Gayward said: ‘Our aircraft doesn’t just shuttle back and forth between Gatwick and the Isle of Man. Introducing fire breaks in the schedule will give us a better chance to get back on track. We want to assure our passengers that we do everything we can to minimise disruption.’
