eDreams flight delayed — when can I claim flight compensation
Under European legislation (EU261), passengers may be entitled to compensation from airlines for flight delays exceeding three hours. To qualify for flight compensation:
Your flight must have either originated from the UK or the EU or been operated by a British or EU airline (specifics can be found in the table below), AND,
The airline must be responsible for the delay. This means that no unforeseeable circumstances or third parties are to blame for the delay (see the “Extraordinary Circumstances” section of this page to learn more).

Claim noweDreams flight cancelled — voucher or refund?
We strongly advise against accepting airline vouchers as they may limit you to booking another flight with the same airline, and they may also come with a time restriction for use. Furthermore, if the airline goes bankrupt, there is a risk that you may encounter difficulties exchanging a voucher for a money refund.
Flight compensation amount for eDreams flight delayed or cancelled
The compensation amount per passenger is determined by the distance of the flight.
For flights shorter than 1,500 km, the compensation is £220.
For flights between 1,500 and 3,500 km, the compensation is £350.
For flights of over 1,500 kilometres within the EU, the compensation is also £350.
For flights of over 3,500 kilometres outside of the EU, the compensation is £520 —but if your flight was delayed by fewer than 4 hours, the total amount might be reduced by 50%.
Extraordinary circumstances — can the airline deny me flight compensation?
Unfortunately, airlines may refuse to provide compensation even in the event of sudden flight cancellations or delays lasting over 3 hours. Such situations may arise from third-party actions or unforeseeable events that are beyond the airline's control, and are called “extraordinary circumstances”.
Below are some common examples of extraordinary circumstances:
Bad weather conditions, such as thick fog, heavy rain, or thunderstorms.
A strike, most often specifically within the aviation industry (for example, a strike of air traffic control workers at a specific airport).
However, a strike of the airline's crew is not considered an extraordinary circumstance!
Political circumstances, such as a terrorist attack or general security risk due to political unrest.
Natural disasters, including volcanic eruptions and hurricanes.
A collision between the aircraft and birds or other foreign objects.
An ill or unruly passenger.
Flight delays caused by the airport staff, such as extraordinarily long queues to security checks.
Your airline might have fabricated its claim of extraordinary circumstances.
